The C&IT Help Desk offers walk-in computer diagnostic and repair services exclusively to Wayne State University students, faculty and staff for personal, non-University owned computers.

WSU departments that have University-owned computers in need of service should contact their local technical support staff.

Drop in anytime during business hours for a free consultation. Many problems can be resolved for free while you wait.

If you are seeking out a specific service listed below or you have a larger problem with your computer that will take some time to resolve, we recommend calling at 313-577-4357 so technicians can get an idea of the scope of your problem. From there, they can determine how to resolve your problem as quickly as possible.

Services Offered

The C&IT Help Desk provides free and discounted computer repair services for hardware and software issues including failed hard drives, virus/spyware detection and removal, and connections to WSU networks.

The C&IT Help Desk will provide front counter computing diagnostics and repair at no charge (approx. 20 minutes max). If your problem cannot be resolved at the front counter, you may choose any of our paid services.

Turnaround time for paid services is typically three to five business days. If you need to use a computer while yours is being repaired, try one of the many computer labs that are available on WSU campus.
