The Virtual Private Network (VPN) at Wayne State uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which provides secure communications on the Internet. By using the VPN, your computer effectively and securely becomes part of the Wayne State network - regardless of its location.

Getting Started

Visit vpn.wayne.edu and login with your AccessID and password, then click the Start button next to the Network Connect heading. First time users will be guided through installation of the VPN client, and clicking this button will automatically launch it in the future.

If you experience problems with the Network Connect software, it is recommended to install the newer software manually. You can do so by downloading and running the following:

If you are using a mobile device such as an iPhone, iPad or an Android device, you can also securely connect to the Wayne State VPN. To connect, search for and download the Junos Pulse app in your device's App Store. Once installed, you just need to enter in the following settings for your VPN profile before clicking Connect:
  • Name: Wayne State VPN
  • URL: vpn.wayne.edu
