C&IT is now hiring Student Ambassadors! February 27, 2017

Are you great at explaining things? Are you an outgoing person? Wayne State Computing & Information Technology is seeking student assistants to inform incoming students about our services at orientations. You will be the face of C&IT for all incoming students!

This job is first and foremost a communications job. Our ideal candidate is someone who walks into a room of people and can’t leave without making a few friends.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication skills

    • Comfortable with public speaking

    • Good at explaining complex things in simple ways

    • Able to provide demonstraions of products for a variety of audiences

  • Outgoing — You will talk to a lot of new people every time you work

  • Tech-savvy — Comfortable with computers, smart phones, new programs and new services

  • Familiarity with Wayne State campus and systems (Academica, Blackboard, Wayne Connect, etc.)

Duties:

  • Manage promotional tables at orientations and other campus events

  • Answer lots of questions about how C&IT services work​

This is not an office job — you will be at orientation sessions throughout the summer helping new Wayne State students navigate the services of C&IT.

Details:

  • The position is for select days April through September 2017

  • This position will pay $13 per hour
