Conference calling allows you to communicate and collaborate with your colleagues on campus, across the country or around the globe. There are several conferencing services available, from telephone-based conference calls to integrated web conferencing (similar to Cisco's WebEx or GoToMeeting).
Wayne State University is currently transitioning to Voice over internet Protocol (VoIP) telecommunications.
All available conferencing services are compatible with both Centrex and VoIP systems unless marked otherwise below.
AT&T Connect 800 conference calls require 24 hour advance notice for set up. Learn how to set up a conference here.
- When using AT&T 800 Connect, the conference host must start the conference within fifteen minutes of the scheduled start time or the conference will be automatically canceled.
- For high quality audio or large rooms, consider one of our professional speakerphones. Call the C&IT Help Desk for details.
- Speakerphones are available to WSU departments for meetings/conferences at any time. Simply complete a Telephone Service Request (TSR) and indicate in the remarks to reserve a conference unit, at least one day in advance, and pick up the unit on the day you requested.
