<title>Firefox 4 released — not yet supported by Wayne State </title>
            <link>http://computing.wayne.edunews-item.php?id=5956</link>
<description>[Posted April 4, 2011 on the Computing &amp;amp; Information Technology website]
Firefox 4 was released to the public in March 2011. However, C&amp;amp;IT recommends you do NOT upgrade to Firefox 4 at this time. Most of our vendor products have not been certified for Firefox 4. Vendor support for new Web browsers typically takes several months or longer to materialize.
For those of you who have installed Firefox 4, we recommend you uninstall it and move back to Firefox 3.6. Firefox 3.6 can be downloaded from Mozilla's Website in all languages and operating systems.
Mozilla has outlined a plan for three more Firefox version releases by the end of 2011 -- this has the potential to bring us to Firefox 7 in 2011 alone. As a rule-of-thumb, the software versions we recommend you install for C&amp;amp;IT-supported services should appear on the&amp;nbsp;C&amp;amp;IT Help Desk Supported Software list. This list is updated as support information becomes available.&amp;nbsp;</description>
