Setting up an Internet Firewall on your PC

  1. From the desktop click on Start button.
  2. Under "Connect To" click on Show all connections.
  3. In the Control Panel, click on Network Connections.

    Click Start, Click Connect To, Click Show all connections

  4. Here the Network Connections for the computer are listed (Note: Firewalled connections have a lock symbol on it).
  5. Right-click on a Network Connection for the menu, and click Properties.(pictured below)

  6. Click the Advanced tab, and check Internet Connection Firewall.(pictured below)

  7. Click the Settings... button to select the services running on your Windows XP computer that other Internet users are allowed to access (pictured below).
