Reporting
The mission of the Business Intelligence and Reporting Team (BIRT), in the Administrative Applications Department of C&IT, is to facilitate the adoption and use of business reporting technologies at Wayne State University.
The BIRT Website provides information and support for WSU employees who view or download Cognos reports (Report Consumer) or develop reports (Report Author) for business reporting purposes.
New Software Announcement
Cognos 10 has been successfully implemented. For those of you that log on to Cognos from the BI reporting tab on Pipeline you will see no change. For those of you that log on to Cognos directly, the login page has changed. Please go to the Cognos Job Aid “Opening Cognos Connection” at:

website to see the changes.
The Operational Data Store will be upgraded this fall to version 8.3. More information will be given, keep checking and look for announcements to come in the FAll of 2011.
Report Author's Training Courses Offered: Contact Dave Brisbois by October 28th,2011
Cost for each class will be based on the number of individuals that will register. We hope that classes will occur before the holiday closure in December 2011.
Cognos 10 Report studio is the Introductory Course for Cognos 10; class limit 15 and it will cost around $766.
What’s new in Cognos 10 is for Experienced Report Authors ; class limit 18 and it will cost around $616.
