Project Management Process

The Enterprise Academic and Administrative Applications department in Wayne State's Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) division has developed Project Management Processes that provide a common set of guidelines and tools for all C&IT employees. Over time, these processes will grow and include a number of documents designed to assist all C&IT staff in managing projects.

C&IT is using a Project Proposal Form to collect information needed to obtain approval for initiating projects within any of the C&IT departments. WSU departments can now download this form (Process & Forms section) to use for all project requests.

The Project Management Process section outlines the following:

  • Introduction to project management
  • The definition of a project
  • Project Management Components
  • Processes and Forms, such as the Project Proposal Form to initiate a project or to acquire or modify Enterprise software

To determine whether work requested of C&IT resources is in fact a project, please refer to the Project Definition section.
