Using WSU WebMail
WSU's WebMail at https://webmail.wayne.edu provides
you with an easy way to view your WSU E-mail wherever you are — using
a Web browser that supports Internet
standards. With WSU WebMail you have 30 MB of storage and the
ability to send and receive attachments up to 30MB in size. WebMail has no
ads and has built-in anti-virus protection that filters most spam messages.
Notes:
– WebMail is only for WSU E-mail
– It's important that you clean out your folders on a regular basis.
You are given a lot of storage space, but it is not endless.
If your account reaches maximum capacity, messages will be returned to the
sender.

recover messages from the Trash folder, just as you can with the Trash
Can or Recycle Bin on your desktop computer. When you want to empty the
Trash folder, click Empty on
the sidebar.
- Request Receipt: You can request a
delivery or read receipt for all outgoing messages here in the preferences.
OR you can make the request when you compose individual messages.

short message confirming that your message was delivered to the addresses
on your To, Cc, and Bcc lines. It does not provide other information
(such as whether the message was opened).

receipt confirming that your message was delivered.
- Click No if you do not want a return
receipt confirming that your message was delivered.

how WebMail handles a request to send a return receipt back to the sender saying
that you opened the message.
- Never send a read receipt: If you choose this option,
you will never be asked about a confirmation receipt, and a read receipt
will not generate.
- Ask me before sending a read receipt:
If you choose this option,
when a sender requests a read
receipt, you will be prompted with a confirmation receipt page:
- Click Yes to send a read receipt to the sender.
- Click No if you do not want to send a read receipt
to the sender.
- Reply: Decide whether you want to include the original message
with your reply.
- Signature: Type a signature you want included with
your message.

Create Filters
A filter is a set of conditions applied to incoming e-mail
messages and attachments. The messages and attachments are then processed
accordingly. The Junk Mail filter is a
special message filter (see Set Junk Mail Filters below).
Set a filter as follows:
- Click Options on the sidebar.
- Click Message Filters in the menu bar at the top
of the window.
- Select Filter Conditions and Filter Actions.
- Click OK.
Set Junk Mail Filter
Warning: The Junk Mail Filter keeps
unwanted mail from reaching your Inbox. However, it
may also keep mail you want from reaching your Inbox. Therefore, check
the mail in your Junk Mail box before discarding it.
Set the Junk Mail Filter as follows:
- Click Options on the sidebar.
- Click Junk Mail Control in the menu bar at the top of the window.
- Click Junk Mail Filter.

the White List.
- @example.com: Adds any address at example.com to
the White List.
- @*.example.com: Adds any address at any host within the example.com domain
to the White List.
Set Black List
The Junk Mail Black List is a list of senders who are always subject to Junk

action. Note, however: White
List entries
override Black List entries.
Create or add to the Black List as follows:

- Click Junk Mail Control in the menu bar at the top of the window.
