WARNING — You will lose WSU E-mail if your allotted mail space fills

Your WSU E-mail account is allocated 30Mb of disk space for mail. When this space is filled, mail cannot go in or out and you will be denied access. Therefore, you will not be able to clean your mailboxes.

To check how much of your allotted space you are using:

  1. Log on to your WSU E-mail account from WSU Pipeline or WSU WebMail.
  2. View your quota and the percentage used at the top of the screen.

If this happens to you, call the Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) Help Desk at (313) 577-4778 to obtain access to your WSU E-mail.

For more information, see the items below.

C&IT sends out warning messages as your mailbox fills to capacity.

When your mail space fills to 90% capacity, you get a warning message in your mailbox telling you that you are reaching capacity and could lose mail unless you discard some of your old mail to free up space.

At 100% capacity, your mailbox is locked. You cannot access your WSU E-mail to send or receive messages or to clean your mailboxes. To get into your mailbox, you must call the C&IT Help Desk at (313) 577-4778. They will give your WSU E-mail account temporary disk space so that you can get in and remove some of the excess mail.
