Wayne State WebMail is a convenient way for WSU students, faculty, and staff to access and manage WSU E-mail. All that's needed is your WSU AccessID and password and an Internet connection with a Web browser that supports Internet standards, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari.
WSU WebMail gives students and staff a 30MB e-mail inbox, the ability to send and receive attachments up to 30MB in size, and built-in anti-virus protection, without the advertising banners found in popular free e-mail services. (Note: The quota for WSU faculty is different.)
WSU WebMail is available to anyone with a WSU E-mail account — current WSU students, faculty, and staff. New students can use WSU E-Mail and WebMail after they are officially admitted to WSU. New faculty and staff can use WSU E-mail and WebMail as soon as their HR record is established in Banner.
All you need to access WSU WebMail is an Internet connection and an up-to-date Web browser, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari. WebMail uses industry-standard SSL encryption, so your password is protected while you are logging on.
You can access WSU WebMail in one of two ways:
If WebMail's 30MB inbox is too small, use a POP or IMAP e-mail software program to download your mail to your computer. Even though you download your mail, you can still use the settings in WebMail's Options menu to screen your incoming e-mail or establish an automatic reply (vacation message).
For details about using WSU WebMail, see our WebMail page.
If you need help with your AccessID or password, contact the C&IT Help Desk at (313) 577-4778 or by e-mail to helpdesk@wayne.edu.
