Changing your WSU Banner password
Your ID for WSU Banner is the same as your WSU AccessID, but your Banner ID
is given a different password. Because it is easier to remember just one password,
we recommend that you change the two passwords so they are the same. See the
Banner requirements
at the end of this document. Also see WSU AccessID password requirements and AccessID

To change your Banner password
Use the GUAPSWD form:
- LOG ON on to Banner at www.banner.wayne.edu.
- Click Change Banner Password in My Links on the
right.
- The Oracle Password Change Form (GUAPSWD) similar to the one
shown below displays. Note that your AccessID will already be displayed,
just as BA2113 is displayed in the example shown below.
- Fill in the remaining fields as follows:

Type a new password.

Type the same new password you typed above. |
- Click the save button
on
the lower right to apply the change.
- When the Forms window shown below displays, click OK
or press the Enter/Return key.

Requirements or restrictions for Banner passwords:
- Recommended length is 6 to 10 characters (however, up to 24 characters
are allowed).
- Can use upper or lower case letters.
- Cannot put a number at the beginning of your password. If you do
type a number at the beginning of your Banner (Oracle) Password on the GUAPSWD
form, you will not get an error message. Instead, you will find
that you cannot save the new password.
- Can put a number somewhere inside
your password.
- In general, we recommend that you do not use special characters,
especially the following:
- Do not put a dollar sign ($) in your password. If you do
type a dollar sign in your Banner (Oracle) Password on the GUAPSWD form,
the Banner System will accept the new password, but you will not be able
to perform all Banner functions.
- Do not put a tilde (~) in your password.
- Do not put a blank space in your password.
- Do not put an ampersand (&) in your password.
