What is it?

SMARTi is client software used to access Banner Reports that contain data from WSU's administrative systems. These are highly detailed, transaction-level reports that the Banner System generates and distributes electronically on a regular basis.

Who can use it?

SMARTi is available for use by authorized WSU employees.

What do I need?

In order to use SMARTi you need:

  1. your WSU AccessID
  2. Banner security access – for access forms and instructions on how to complete and submit them, visit the Banner Access Forms web page.
  3. A Banner password.
  4. a computer and software that meets specifications. See Administrative desktop computing specifications.
  5. SMARTi installed on your computer.
  6. your computer mapped to the WSUadmin share. For setup instructions, see Using SMARTi with Banner.

About your password

You can change your Banner password yourself. See Banner password change information. If, however, you need to have your Banner password reset because you forgot it, telephone the C&IT Help Desk at (313) 577-4778. They will need to know your name, AccessID, logon ID, and the database you use.

Is there a cost?

There is no cost for authorized persons to use SMARTi.
