Wayne State University provides e-mail, network authentication, directory services and WSU Pipeline access for its employees and students.
With the Guest AccessID, the university also can offer access of these services (with the exception of WSU Pipeline) to a limited number of individuals who are not employees or students of the university.
The Guest AccessID is for people whose affiliation with the university is in a capacity directly supporting or benefiting the university's academic or administrative activities.
A Guest AccessID is a privilege. The person who gets one must abide by the WSU executive order on Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources.
A dean, vice president, or dean/vice president designee must sponsor and sign the request for a Guest AccessID. The sponsor certifies that the access supports a university purpose.
Guest AccessIDs are now requested through the business managers in your school, college, or division.
To find out what information you must supply your business manager to obtain a Guest AccessID, read the following article: http://kb.wayne.edu/index.php?article=1845
Guest AccessIDs are valid for a maximum of 12 months from the date of issue. One month prior to the expiration date, Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) sends an expiration notice to both the guest and the sponsoring dean/vice president or designee. If the ID is not renewed, it expires automatically.
